5 Signs Your Diet Isn't Working For You
Here are 5 signs your health and fitness journey isn't working for you —
1️⃣ You're hungry all the time
Eating provides us with the energy we need to move, workout, and burn fat. If you are cutting your calories too low, you are more likely to binge or have really intense cravings. You want to feel satisfied and fueled throughout the day and after meals. Instead, work on portion control and making peace with food.
2️⃣ Lack of progress
How are you measuring progress? Only by the scale? There could be deeper issues going on. Some reasons you could see a plateau: frequent yo-yo dieting, trauma, stress, inflammation, autoimmune issues, over exercising and more!
3️⃣ You're tired all the time
Working out and eating healthy should help you feel energized and motivated, not more tired and bogged down. So if you are feeling exhausted, chances are you’ve either been dieting for TOO long, there’s something deeper going on, or you are elevating your wellness over Christ.
4️⃣ You’re anxious about it
Anxiety comes from a place of unknown and fear. Are you trying to white knuckle your way to your goals? Are you determined that you need to get down to a certain weight or size to feel satisfied? Have you invited Jesus into your journey with you? Anxiety in our health and fitness can often stem from a misplaced hope in something for our body, that may not be needed or ready to happen yet.
5️⃣ You feel controlled by food
If you are trying to radically change your whole life to reach your goals faster, you won't be able to sustain it long term. You want to be working on habits and methods that you can build upon the rest of your life. Food has no hold over you, but if you feel like it does, ask the Lord to reveal why?
